Catawba County and all surrounding counties require an Accessory Structure Permit for any structure larger than 12′ x 12′ x 12′. Be sure to check local regulations before beginning your project!
An Accessory Structure Permit is not required by the county for a carport under 420 square feet, as long as it remains open on all sides—meaning it is not enclosed on the sides or ends.
A Zoning Permit is still Required!!
All Cities and Counties Require Zoning Permits for ANY Accessory Structure Over 8’x 8′!
